Seems like a cool idea, but actually useless?
It’s definitely an art piece rather than something that can be used to find spots. I think there are some cool GOOG maps projects where people have been tagging actual surf breaks that are more local (i.e., useful)
Hi! This is Simon from the Surftripmap. First of all thanks for the Blogpost. @bmiltenberg: the map is not for information purposes only so it is NOT a replacement for a good old stormrider guide. The brief information about the regions and spots give you a good idea about the surf though. It is meant to remind you that there is unexpected surf there and still plenty of spots to discover. Also you can pin where you have been and want to go and so on.
@the author of this post. Feel free to email me your address and I will send you a free surftripmap so you can post a comment with what you think about it.
keep searching guys!
It’s actually a rip off of my buddies map he made in 2008 – http://www.actionsportsmaps.com – good work Simon.
